I was born and raised in Los Angeles and studied music and theatre arts at San Diego State University. I joined my first band and began singing professionally at age 19. After more than 10 years of performing, I took time off for marriage and to raise my three sons. Feeling the need to be creative and perform again, I resumed studying acting and took art classes. Discovering an aptitude for oil painting, I made a commitment to paint every week and soon my work evolved into my own personal style - a combination of impressionism and realism. I paint in both oil and acrylic. I also enjoy capturing images through photography and then recreating my own version of them on canvas. My subjects include: landscape, seascape, architecture, still life, abstract, animals and portraiture. Many of my pieces have windows and doors, arches and pathways. They represent to me adventure, surprise and spirituality. I have worked as an actress in film, television and theater in the Los Angeles area. As a singer and musician I have performed all over the U.S. and in Japan. I truly love to perform and to create art – I’m not quite sure which I enjoy the most! But most importantly to me, whether I’m singing, acting or creating a painting, is how I’m able to touch people’s lives. With my arts I have been blessed to be able to turn strangers into friends, and I am sincerely grateful for this gift. |
