Malcolm Devine (actor/director/writer/producer) is thrilled to be a member with such a amazingly talented group of people. He stars in a comedy web series called Everybody's Stupid which appears on Soccerboy in LA (www.soccerboyInLA.com) that he also directs, writes and produces. Most recently, Malcolm created the role of "Yewande" in the World Premiere of Mark Troy's The Bitter Herbs at the Sidewalk Studio Theater, and was in the Regional Premiere of 74 Georgia Avenue here at The Group Rep. Malcolm has been seen Off-Broadway as WIlliam Still in Freedom Train, Charles in Pippin, Valentin (understudy) in Kiss of the Spiderwoman and The Witch in Into the Woods. Regionally he has appeared as Pedro in Man of La Mancha (Paper Mill Playhouse), La Bohéme (Atlanta Opera),Turkle/Williams in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Hudson Theatre) Hip Hop Hurry Up (World Premiere, Seven Stages). National Tours: Freedom Train: The Harriet Tubman Story and Hip Hop Hurry Up. Other roles include: Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, The Lion in The WIz, King in The Ugly Duckling, Clyde in Dearly Departed, Stewpot in South Pacific, Fleet Foot in Little Mary Sunshine, There have been the requisite "singer," "waiter #3," and "onlooker #1" roles in film and TV, but Malcolm is extremely proud to run his own multimedia studio, MD TOTAL, where he gets to act, direct, write and produce material for different platforms. He received his BFA in drama as a Trustee Scholar (with minors in Sociology, Art History and Music Theory) from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. |
